SEPTEMBER PROMOTION SPOTLIGHT: IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!

While the National Retail Federation projected Back to School spending to be down nearly 8%, other industries took advantage of marketing strategies with an educational twist.

Promotional Currency worked with the Phoenix Advertising Group for Canada’s Party Safe initiative, where representatives handed out music download cards to secondary school students during Welcome Week at school. With 10,000 music download codes landing on a custom webpage, Party Safe had a significant opportunity to make an impression on teenagers.

Promotional Currency also engaged with Luckie and Company for Regions Bank, who are handing out a total of 8,290 music download codes in a range of different amounts. Students who open a new checking account with the bank gladly receive a music download card, proving that money talks and so do digital incentives, particularly as the game continues to change for teenagers’ replacement of traditional media as entertainment.

Meet Laura Kellermeyer, the first voice you may hear when calling Promotional Currency’s headquarters. Since March 2008, Laura has managed our front office, bringing prior experience from an online retail company and a great attitude of “every day is different!”

Laura loves the uniqueness of Promotional Currency and the variety of methods in which she helps the rest of the team work with clients. “We have multiple opportunities to market brands, not only with music, but with skins, ringtones and more.” She also enjoys interacting with clients, particularly those with whom she’s worked in the past who call in to kick off another promotion.

When she’s not at the office, Laura’s friends and family will find her combing the beach, shooting beautiful photographs or tasting wine (or maybe all three at the same time!). And beginning next month, she and her two cats will answer to their new last name of Meyer. Congratulations, Laura!
